Claire Munnings tries a convenient gluten-free meal from Kirsty’s
I’ve got to admit it – I love pasta. Tossed in fresh pesto, baked in a tomato and vegetable sauce or served cold with salad for lunch, it’s one of the most versatile ingredients in my cupboard and my go-to mid-week staple. Having a gluten intolerance or allergy, therefore, is my idea of a nightmare and I’ve always thought that the free-from alternatives on the market would be lacking somewhat in the taste department. That was until I tasted one of the offerings from Kirsty’s meals. Made using quality natural ingredients, these convenient dishes are perfect for those who suffer with allergies and are looking for a quick, on-the-go healthy meal. I tried the lasagne, which was free from gluten, wheat and dairy and low in sugar, and had I not known, I wouldn’t have guessed that it wasn’t normal pasta!

VISITING THE MARYLEBONE
Lauren Godfrey headed to The Marylebone in London to trial its award-winning fitness facilities
I consider myself a bit of a jetsetter and when I check-in to a new hotel I like to put it through its paces. But when I stepped into Third Space gym at The Marylebone in London it was me who was put to the test. Recently awarded the winner of the ‘Best Workout’ category in Laterooms.com’s annual Simply The Guest awards, I had high expectations for Third Space and The Marylebone and I’m excited to say that each and every one was met. After a breezy check-in I was accompanied to my luxury suite on the fifth floor. Boasting chic décor, an overflowing fruit bowl and the comfiest bed in the city, I’d quite happily rent out my cramped apartment and move in here for good! After a refreshing delivery from The Juicery, the hotel’s in-house health bar, and a handful of dates, I was adequately prepped for my workout session at Third Space. But where to start? This urban sanctuary is brimming with the latest fit tech and even features climbing ropes, Olympic rings and TRX. After a 30-minute run and quick session on the Wattbikes, the most advanced indoor bike to date, I was ready to trial the 18m swimming pool. Before I knew it, a good few hours had passed and my body had been well and truly pushed to its limit. A relaxing visit to the steam room and sauna followed and then I headed back to my beautiful room for round two of juice and fruit. I awoke the following morning with a yearn to return to the gym for a mini-weight session – I felt the need to use every inch of the facilities, and I’m so glad that I did. I seemed to have built up quite an appetite so finished off my stay with breakfast at the Pantry at 108. For details visit doylecollection.com/ hotels/the-marylebone-hotel
