Wonderbra and Shockabsorber Owner Produces 100 Million Face Masks

1 MIN READ • 21st May 2020

As the UK Government advises people to wear face masks on public transport and while shopping, to help control the spread of COVID-19, HanesBrands, parent company of Shock Absorber, Wonderbra, Champion and Playtex, is announcing its new production of the now essential protection wear.

HanesBrands has already produced over 100 million face masks globally.

Although this product is not a medical device or a personal protection device pursuant to EU legislation or UK laws, the tests carried out by a French laboratory indicate that the design offers 98 percent filtration of three-micron particles after 30 washes at 60 degrees Celsius.

Therefore, it is more ecological than one-way masks as it is less bio-hazardous if washed before recycling and as a result more cost effective too.

The masks will be available to buy in the UK online from June – RRP £16.99 for a pack of five.
