‘Crime And Thriller’ Festival Comes To London

1 MIN READ • 15th August 2019

‘The Capital Crime Festival’ launches this Sepetmber, giving you the chance to meet the creatives behind the best crime and thriller stories. Guests include Midsomer Murders writer, Anthony Hotowitz, as well as the writer behind the novels which inspired Shetland, Ann Cleeves. Dozens more have also been confirmed.

This first of its kind event offers unprecedented access to writers. Other notable guests include author of the Patricia “Paddy” Meehan novels, Denise Mina and best selling author, Martina Cole; and author behind Easy Motion Tourist, Leye Adenle. You can see the rest of the line-up here.

‘Capital Crime’ will also host panels. These include ‘The Human Cost of Crime’ and ‘The Interrogation of Mark Billingham’, in which the bestselling author will actually be questioned by a police interrogator. Attendees will also be able to attend live interviews of their favourite writers.

One of the organizers, screenwriter Adam Hamdy, said that, ‘we’re thrilled to be launching Capital Crime and are excited about our amazing guest line-up. We look forward to welcoming thriller fans from all over the world”.

Author Martina Cole praises the organizers. “We have all been waiting for a London based festival like Capital Crime.  It’s fantastic to see such a diverse line up of  writers taking part.  David Headley and Adam Hamdy have put together an amazing programme of events for the first crime festival in London and I’m thrilled to be part of it.”

The event promises to be the most “diverse and inclusive”of its kind. It is being hosted at the Connaught Rooms and runs from September 26th-28th.
