Yoga Studio Closed Due To Coronavirus? Here’s How You Can Practice At Home

2 MIN READ • 17th March 2020

With the government advising to avoid close contact with others where possible due to Coronavirus, sweating in an enclosed space and then heading to the shared showers is probably the last place you would want to be right now.

But that doesn’t mean your workout routine has to suffer. Many PTs have been posting on Instagram to inform their clients that they’ll be holding online classes, while in-keeping with the safety guidelines that have been set.

What are gyms doing to keep its members fit and reduce the spread of Coronavirus?

FLEX Chelsea is offering workouts in the park for maximum of six people per session. The studio will be offering workouts with ample space in Eel Brook Common, which are £15 per class, DM @flexchelsea or go online to the timetable to book.

  • Tuesday 4pm- PARK FLEXIT (a whole body HIIT workout)
  • Wednesday 12.30pm- Run & FLEXIT- jog to the park, 20 mint super-charged flexit class & group jog back to FLEX Chelsea
  • Wednesday 4pm- Peach in the park (based on their Peach for the Beach class which is specifically designed to maximise activation and strength of the glutes)

CIRQ is also working on live streaming workouts when their studio shuts so that their members can continue to get a good circuit in.

How to stay fit during social isolation

Fancy something a bit more gentle than a sweaty workout class? Yoga is great for relieving stress, which is a great tonic for the increasingly worrying headlines at the moment.

All you need is a 3x3m space, a WiFi connection for your device (with the camera turned on) and a mat.

The sessions are either 25 minutes or 55 minutes each depending on the user’s preference and there’s a seven-day free trial, so you don’t have to commit just yet.

HelloYoga is available online via the Android and iOS app. Private training sessions are available to book via the website with affordable prices based on a subscription model including the following options; £39 for two sessions, £69 for four sessions or £89 for six sessions.

The first 500 people to sign up to the digital yoga platform using the code HELLOISOLATION will be credited with six digital personal yoga sessions, with a value of £89.

Combining sun salutation with hand sanitiser is surely the way to go then?
