Want Lean Abs? Eat More Says This Fitness Blogger

1 MIN READ • 28th September 2016

Throw away the scales ladies, the secret to fat loss isn't what you think

If I was to ask you what the best way to reveal chiselled abs is, what would you say? Train more? Eat less? You wouldn’t be wrong as thee hard and fast rules have been our weightloss go-to for years. But fitness, food and travel blogger, Alex has thrown a whole new theory into the mix. Posting a before and after picture on her Instagram page, Alex’s mission is to encourage gym-goers everywhere to eat more to see results. Yep, you read that right!

“Looking back I realise I was massively overtraining as I was going to the gym 6 times a week and using really heavy weights…I was only eating roughly 1600 calories a day and my body could not have been doing well…I just didn’t realise I should be eating more calories if I wanted my muscles to grow and it’s actually hard to eat high calories when you’re eating well!” Alex goes on to give some words of wisdom to reveal Insta-worthy abs, ““I want you to know that you SHOULD be eating higher calorie diets girls because otherwise your body will not be properly fuelled and you might struggle to see results. I eat way higher calorie now (even higher than usual since I started travelling) and I am seeing the best muscle definition of my life”

But before you stock-pile all your favourite naughty treats, Alex explains that upping your calorie intake with healthy, wholesome food is the key to success. Amen to that!
