Our Favourite Running Events In March

Whether you're a seasoned runner or new to pounding the pavements, you're bound to find something you'll love!

Grab your calendar and make a note of these events – put together by events app REVL, this list is sure to have something you’ll want to sign up to!

  • 1. Old Spike Roastery – Pinch, punch first run of the month (1st March, 18:45pm)
    Meet at Old Spike from 18:45pm in order to run together and achieve that runners’ high. You’ll run a couple of miles (this is more of an endurance week) and then arrive at Camberwell Salvation Army. There’s no better way to start a month of fitness.

  • 2. Hammersmith Fitness – Run to help a local charity (7th March, 18:45pm)
    Get fit and help a great local cause at the same time with the Hammersmith charity run. You can raise funds to several causes in the area while achieving your fitness goals.

  • 3. Royal Festival Hall – WOW Run (12th March, 09:30am)
    This event is part of the Women of the World (WOW) festival at the Southbank. Start your WOW weekend with a 5km group run around Central London lead by two qualified coaches. You’ll meet in the Royal Festival Cloakroom for a warm up before heading out onto the streets to celebrate female strength while honouring some of the great women commemorated in the city. You’ll return to the Southbank Centre by 11am, feeling invigorated and ready to enjoy the rest of the festival.

  • 4. Weston Community Stadium – Colchester Half Marathon (12th March, 09:00am)
    This is a fast, undulating course through Colchester, Britain’s oldest recorded town. Starting at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, this run takes you through the various different parts of the town, as well as up hard hills and long flats. Why not set yourself this as a challenge to kickstart your running this month?

  • 5. Dorney Court Windsor – Windsor and Eton Half Marathon (18th March, 9am)
    This is a flat, fast course that’s easily accessible from London and consists of four laps around the Dorney Lake, which was used in the 2012 Olympics. This scenic route is totally traffic-free and is the flattest course in the UK – so this has all the makings of a PB!

  • 6. Richmond Park – Richmond Spring Riverside 10km 2017 (18th March, 09:30am)
    Get your friends together to join the Richmond Spring Riverside 10km Run 2017. This stunning flat and fast run is set in the beautiful surroundings of Richmond Park, so you’ll have amazing views on your way round the course.

  • 7. Madejski Stadium – Reading Half Marathon (19th March, 10:15am)
    The Reading Half Marathon started in 1983 and not only takes in the highlights of the centre of Reading where you’ll experience huge crowd support but also passes through the beautiful grounds of the university campus. The race culminates in a finish rarely found outside an Olympic stadium with over 15,000 people cheering you over the finish line.

  • 8. Sheffield Dronfield Scout Headquarters – Dronfield 10km (19th March, 09:00am)
    Now in its 24th year, the Dronfield 10km is a two lap road race set in Dronfield Woodhouse, near Sheffield. The course is accredited by UK Athletics, and is a well-marshalled undulating route on roads. A donation is also made every year to the current Dronfield Mayor’s charity.

  • 9. West Buckland School – Exmoor Run (23rd March, 08:40am)
    Starting at the West Buckland School, this run takes you across the beautiful Devonshire countryside. Beginning bright and early in the morning, this is your chance to reignite your running passion and experience the true thrill of outdoor running.

  • 10. Greenwich Park- The Tough 5km, 10km, 15km Runs 2017 (25th March, 09:30am)
    Take on the ups and downs of Greenwich Park with this great, early season, tough run which will test those legs and get your heart pounding. Join hundreds of runners in the stunning park to challenge yourself as well as your friends, family and work colleagues. Every entrant receives full race chip timing and a medal, as well as drinks and refreshments on the day. If you’re feeling like you want more of a challenge, try the Tough 15km. Not quite ready for either of these? Try the Tough 5 instead – a 5km run that will still test you!
