Five Fitness Apps You Need To Download For Summer

2 MIN READ • 4th April 2018

As we head into the warmer months we all want to get fit – AND FAST. So consider us your helping hand as we round-up the best apps to help you get in shape

  • TruBe – The one that’s like having your own personal trainer
Like Uber for personal trainers, TruBe is a really handy app which helps you find personal trainers near you who will meet you at home, in a park or even in your office to whip you into shape whenever and wherever it suits you. All the trainers are fully qualified and thoroughly vetted so you know you’re in good hands, and you can book a workout two hours to two weeks in advance.

  • Run Keeper – The one that helps you track your achievements
When you work out there is nothing quite like seeing what you have achieved and giving yourself a well-earned pat on the back. What better way to do so than by downloading Run Keeper? Offering bespoke weekly training sessions to help keep motivation levels high, it will quickly become your best training buddy.

  • Lifesum – The one that takes care of all things food
There is no use doing a work out if you are going to indulge in unhealthy food at the end and this is where the age-old saying ‘you are what you eat’ speaks the truth. To make sure you maximise the results of the blood sweat and tears from your work out, why not download Lifesum? This nifty app allows you to upload an image of the food you are consuming before presenting you with a full list of ingredients, nutritional information, and a food rating based on the nutritional value.

  • Nike + Running Club – The one that’s like a running buddy
So, you have the motivation to go for a run, your gym kit it on but you have no idea where to go. Look no further than a swift download of the Nike+ Running Club! This well-designed running app by the US fitness giant features audio-guided runs from Nike coaches and athletes, including the mighty Sir Mo Farah. You can also get a personalised training plan that’s tailored to your goal and current fitness, plus the app will remind you about your sessions and adjust the plan automatically if you’re forced to miss a few.

  • Sweatcoin – The one that saves you money while you exercise
Yep, you heard that correctly. Exercise can be expensive, from buying the latest gear to paying for that hot and happening class with your friends. So why not earn some cash while you work out? By downloading Sweatcoin you can hook the app up to your smartphone’s health and fitness data and GPS location to the app. Sweatcoin then tracks how many steps you take in a day and rewards you a monetary “sweat” value according to your movements. For every 1,000 steps recorded, the app will pay out .95 in “sweatcoins.”
