Millie Mackintosh: Her 3 go-to hairstyles

1 MIN READ • 1st September 2014

Fashion designer/author/health ambassador – Millie Mackintosh is the epitome of a millenial entrepreneur. With a jam-packed diary that will take her around the world this summer, the former reality star shares her top holiday beauty buys to help you stay glam wherever you are

I’m all about hydration when flying. I use face wipes to remove any make-up

that I might have worn at the airport and to as soon as I step on the plane. I then slather on an overnight repair oil or a hydrating mask and relax. I also travel with Dr Prenna Jones face mist – it has sage in it which is really calming and good for skin that’s prone to a breakout or two.

In my hand luggage I always carry all of the above plus an ipad,

Relax Eye Mask (3) and This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray (£16,). For long haul flights I take my silk pjs and cashmere slipper socks so I can get cosy.

I don’t travel lightly! I always over-pack two weeks more outfits than I need – you never know what you’ll need!

A week before going away I start pre-packing; pulling out things to take with me and putting them on top of my case. I then go back to it the day before I go away to look at colours and the looks that I’m going for. Colour tones are important when packing, I choose lots of bright colours and metallics that will go well together and mix and match them all.

When I’m away I like to wear my hair three ways.

I love wavy beach hair so I try to leave in the texture I get from swimming in the sea and just add ghd Smooth and Finish Serum (£14.95 ghdhair.com) to smooth over the ends and add definition. If I’m going for a centre parting and super sleek hair – I simply straighten it, which looks like nice with tanned skin and natural makeup and a bright lip colour. Lastly, if I’m aiming for full-on glamour, I like going for a slicked back low bun with a centre parting.

When posing for holiday snaps, always make sure the light is facing you.

Try to look relaxed, not awkward when standing in poses – I’m a big fan of arms in the air!
